KOREA

CDF Korea founding coordinator, Yungae Park, returned home from the 2000 ICDF conference in Australia highly motivated to finalise plans for the founding of CDF Korea at their own mini-conference later that year. It was a special time for Mary Jones, who represented the ICDF Committee at the 'birth' of CDF Korea's because there were links with the worldwide Christian fellowship for university students which Mary's father founded decades previously.

MALAYSIA

CDFM Co-ordinator Karen Liew is a Spirit-filled ordained Pastor who received her dance training both through a Local Dance Theatre Company and through Kingdom Life Training Institute. She caught the vision of having a national conference that would help to train dance leaders and start a CDF. Invitation letters were sent out to churches in Malaysia whose dancers are willing to come with a view towards networking and combining resources in the area of Christian dance. Outstanding overseas and local tutors were aligned to lecture in dance approaches for the event, and the response was overwhelming! The conference was packed to capacity with 200 who had come from all parts of East and West Malaysia.

The flame was lit and CDFM was formed with the vision and mission to express Christ through dance on par toward excellence! Since then the committee has been very active and members have participated in some very large scale events in Malaysia. Recently, CDFM were given the honor to host the 6th ICDF Conference, the first of its kind in Asia and organised a momentous International Christian Creative Arts Conference at the International Genting Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur on July 2006.

PHILIPPINES

Since CDFP started in 1997, there have been several workshops, a dance exchange and an AGM with Chini Chipongian elected as Co-ordinator. Catholics make up 90% of the population and many CDFP members belong to Catholic Charismatic communities in Manila. Pastor Ed Lapiz is Senior Pastor of Day by Day Ministries and directs Kaloob, a music and dance ministry that researches, records and redeems indigenous music and dance, which was chosen as the official dance company of the Centenary Expo and presented four performances a day for eight months under the name of Kaloob Music and Dance Ministry.
